Balsamic & Avocado Oil Salad Dressing
I you know me, then you know that I much prefer to make my own dressings and food in general. I find that a LOT of salad dressings found in stores have too much added sugar and preservatives that I don't want to be eating. I came across this recipe from Bare Feet In The Kitchen, and tweaked it a bit. Such a good combo and goes great with many different salad combos. My husband likes it better than store bought! I like to make mine with avocado oil, but olive oil would work great too.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 3/4 cup avocado oil
- 1 tbsp minced garlic (I use the tubes of minced garlic from Aldi)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Directions:
- Mix balsamic & avocado oil into a medium sized mixing bowl.
- Add honey, mustard, garlic, salt/pepper
- Whisk everything together until thoroughly mixed
Can be stored in the fridge for 1-2 weeks. We usually go through it pretty fast though, and it doesn't last that long. I keep mine in this container I found at Bed Bath & Beyond, but they also sell bottles specifically for salad dressing.
Happy Cooking!
