Oatmeal w/ berries, nuts & almond butter

It's super cold in St. Louis and I've been craving a warm breakfast lately.  I'm a big overnight oats fan, and I love oats in general.  Oatmeal is a filling and satisfying breakfast that can be customized to your liking.  Lately I've been enjoying it with berries, walnuts, cinnamon and almond butter.



  • 1/3 c old fashioned oats
  • 2/3 c water
  • 1/4 c blueberries, or any fruit you like
  • 1/4 c walnuts
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • Sea salt
  • Cinnamon

Alternate ingredients:

  • Peanut or cashew butter
  • Almonds, pecans
  • Bananas, raspberries, strawberries, apples, raisins
  • Protein powder (mix with the water and oats before cooking)
  • Egg whites (mix with the water and oats before cooking)


  • Mix oats and water in a microwave safe dish
  • Microwave on high for 2 minutes and 20 seconds
  • Let sit for a few minutes after the time is up
  • Stir in the cinnamon and sea salt.  I just use a dash of salt and maybe 1/4 tsp of cinnamon
  • Add berries, almond butter and nuts
